Our story
iSolar was co-founded in 2019 by master electrician John Ihle and his nephew Ryan Ihle — but our roots go back decades further. John has been in the electrical trade since 1977 and doing renewable-energy work in Minnesota since the 1980s — experience almost no other solar company in the state can match. Two decades before most Minnesota solar companies existed, our team was already doing this work.
We're a family company that has kept many of the same people since day one, because we care about our team as much as our customers. Ryan brings a physics background and has designed, financed, wired and commissioned solar from small residential rooftops to utility scale. When you call iSolar, you reach people who have done this for years — and plan to be here for decades more.
