I’m excited to have my iSolar system up and running. iSolar installed an EV charger in our garage. The work required running a line through our finished basement across the full width of our house. They managed this while only cutting two small access holes in the drywall both of which were repaired. Everyone we worked with was great, especially Adam. I would use this company again.
I purchased the Mustang Mac- E in Nov 2024 after Trump was elected knowing that I would expect the Electric Vehicle incentives to go away. I took advantage of the free charger and included installation incentives that Ford offered. Isolar was awarded the bid to install the charger which included running the wire 50 ft from my circuit panel at the back of my house to the garage through a conduit outside of the back wall of the house, then through the basement joist space into the garage. I worked directly with Ryan and his uncle, John (the master electrician) regarding specifying locations to install and fishing the wire through the joist space in frigid 5deg F temperatures. We had to work 15 min outside then warm up our fingers inside for 15 min. I did not hear one complaint about having to work in such cold. I felt Ryan and John and Felipe, their 3rd technician, were very professional and friendly while responding to all my questions and requests. I have no reservations to recommend Isolar for any electrical work.

Like many, I had been looking at solar for a number of years, but didn't take the plunge until this year. I used online tools to get various quotes. Some were good others not so much. I was given iSolar's number from a neighbor who had had iSolar install their system and they had a great experience. Hence, I decided to go with iSolar and am very glad I did. I am a Sr. Project Manager for Patriot Homes, LLC (a general contractor) The solar panels of a customer of mine needed to be removed and reinstalled to facilitate a roof replacement. The original installer had gone out of business, so I contacted Isolar for a bid that I was needing to submit for approval to their insurance carrier prior to our work being done. I also reached out to every single company locally for additional bids and soon found out that half are no longer in business and the other half do not have any one available to speak with when calling and/or don't respond to any attempted communications. Isolar quickly provided me with their estimate and scheduled the removal of the panels and, shortly after our install, they were back in to reattach the system. My homeowner did not have access to his monitoring system as it was never set up during the original install and Isolar was able to work around this even though it obviously made their job more difficult. There was a small issue located by the electric company with the system not producing and Isolar was out almost immediately diagnose the issue and even went so far as to calculate the potential loss to my homeowner ($55) for reimbursement. Without even being asked they are mailing him a check with an additional $20 for the very minor inconvenience caused to the homeowner. If google reviews allowed more stars they would get them from me. As a general contractor there are a lot of moving parts in any project and many subcontractors being coordinated. No one is perfect and work doesn't always go how you hope through all parts of a project, but Isolar is definitely at the top of my list of contractors I have worked with, and I was completely satisfied from start to finish. They are quick, efficient, responsive, punctual, and provided amazing customer service. Dan, Ian, Jason, Ryan, and Michael are a great team and very obviously work together to provide this awesome experience to their customers. I got about 4 bids on solar panels and ended up going with iSolar after contacting their provided references. The solar insure package that's included definitely sweetened the deal, but their presentation was much better than some of the other bigger guys in the area. They listened to me wanting to put panels on my outbuilding, and actually used their software to show me specific spots on my roof and how everything would shake out.
They also were the only ones that actually looked at my property and chose the panel location we ended up going with, and so far they're far out producing expectations. Very happy with the service I've gotten from them and would recommend them for sure.

I was considering putting up solar panels on our house. I called three companies in the Minneapolis/St. Paul metro area and asked them to come to our home to discuss the possibility of installing panels. Two of the three responded to my request. I was extremely impressed with iSolar’s presentation. They were concise, straight forward and eager to be of service. Comparing the two presentations, iSolar was head and shoulders above the other organization. They were clear about the timeline for installation, various products that were available and pricing. It was obvious that they had access to the best products. They also assisted me with the paperwork required by the energy company and followed up to ensure install approval was on track.

I needed our array repaired. The team at iSolar was helpful and kind on the phone. They showed up exactly when they said they would and repaired the array exactly how they said they would. They even followed up afterwards. This is how you run a business!
Could not be happier with this service. Phil spent the time trouble shooting our electrical problem. Instead of replacing the entire system, as was recommended by other companies, the repair ended up being 1/10 of the cost.

I participated in a Solar United Neighbors group that chose iSolar as their installer. Ryan from iSolar was great to work with. He answered all my questions thoroughly before and after installation. A few months after the papers were signed, the panels were installed and connected to the grid. The building inspector found one little thing to improve. But iSolar fixed that within a few days and the panels have performed great for 1.5 years now. I would recommend iSolar to anyone.

They won the bid for our solar coop participants. The detailed financial forecast model they ran for us gave us peace of mind about the investment. It showed that it wasn't their "first rodeo" and the install went pretty smooth. They were very responsive about questions and concerns I had and got the necessary permits all lined up. After some production and scheduling delays (which I understand), it appears our array actually overproduced this summer compared to predictions, which I'll take any day!

Our roof was severely damaged by the recent hailstorm and required replacement. The roofing company needed to have our solar system taken off and put back on so that they could complete the roofing process, but the company that installed our panels was months out in terms of lead time. iSolar to the rescue!
Ben, Ryan, and Jason handled the whole thing from start to finish, and were even able to solve some of the nagging problems we had with the system before the roofing project. I cannot recommend these guys strongly enough.

Dan and Ryan and have been very easy to work with. We were looking for a company to detach and reattach our panels during a roof replacement project. Other companies required that the panels be offline for up to a month, and would take weeks to get on their schedule. iSolar was very flexible and coordinated with the roofing contractor to have crews out so that downtime was less than a week. Would highly recommend them.
3 years later and we are very pleased with iSolar. We haven't had many issues but when we do, we can still call them and get a response immediately.
The staff at iSolar was really easy to work with. They were very honest and quick in the process. The install actually happened ahead of schedule. The pricing was very competitive and they use the best technology available. I would definitely recommend.
Isolar did a great job of figuring out how much solar panels we needed to get the right performance out of our panels and placement on the garage. Only issue was have to take out a $30,000 loan so you have to be in it for the long term to get any financial gain from it. Like to help get new energy source going away from coal and oil. Came out to $190 a month for loan which may be about what our bill would be per month for electric. Summer we get credit since solar produces enough sunlight and winter we pay a little since we don’t see as much sun then. We did receive a tax break of about $8000 the year after we installed. If gas prices keep rising we will definitely be glad we did it.
Update as of December 2023: I have received this year's final numbers and am happy to report that all of my electricity consumption has been covered by solar power. This includes the energy required to power my two Bolt EVs. I will also receive an $800 check for the surplus electricity generated by the iSolar panels. At this point, I am only five years away from ultimately paying off the cost of the solar panels and earning a profit from the electricity they produce. Furthermore, I have already covered the negative environmental impact of installing the panels. It may seem costly initially, but it's worth the investment if you can afford it. I received my federal rebate and got a substantial amount of money back with my 2022 tax return. Dakota Electric's off-peak EV charging is a crucial factor in saving money. It only costs me around $1.50 in electricity to travel 100 miles, and I always start my day with a full tank of electricity. It takes me just 5 seconds to plug in at night, and I don't have to stand outside in the cold. Feel free to get my address from iSolar if you would like to take a look at my set-up in the south metro area of the Twin Cities.

This local Twin Cities company should not be overlooked One year after the install, I am able to provide all my electric cost needs and get a check from Dakota electric for over $600. Yes, the electric company paid me. If you remove my Dakota rebate, I still made almost $100. Summary: The cost for electricity in my house and 15,000 miles on the electric car was covered by the solar panels. Thanks to the EV storage rate, I am able to save tons of money each year. The cost of the solar panels will pay for itself in about 6 more years. Keep in mind the savings is a bonus. I wanted solar for the environmental benefits.

They were the only company willing to move my vents and pipes on my south-facing roof to the north side, resulting in two extra panels. 22 panels total. Justin was a great salesperson who answered all my calls immediately, unlike other companies that forced me to leave a message or make an appointment. They have a family feel to them as they work. They pull together when needed and make sure the customer is happy. Justin, the salesperson, was also one who helped with the installation. Your salesperson is also one of the installers. Yes, everyone in the company is hands-on and knows what they are doing. When there are structural needs, they call in Three Rivers Contracting to help. Larry, from Three Rivers, made sure everything looked fantastic. In fact, I will have my shed in my backyard reconstructed using Three Rivers next summer.

5 STARS!!!!! I didn’t buy my solar installation from iSolar, I called them for help with an inverter problem. I had contacted several other solar companies who took days to call me, iSolar called back within minutes. They were polite and prompt as we worked out a service time and date that worked for me. Their service person arrived ready to work and on time. They were fast, accurate, competent, polite, and thorough at getting my system up and running. If I ever add onto my system or if I need service they will be the first and only company I will consider.
I highly recommend doing your solar project with iSolar. We had a rather large project done on our house. The end result was fantastic. Our project took longer than expected but that was due to Excel Energy. I solar stayed on top of them to keep the project moving along. Once we finally got the approval from Excel Energy, the actual installation only took 2 days. I had a ton of questions along the way and Ryan, and the team from iSolar always took the time to answer them all. I did a lot of research on solar install companies prior to picking iSolar, and iSolar has the best warranty in the business and all the right Hardware that I was looking for. Thank you again iSolar.
I was introduced to iSolar because they were the preferred provider of the local Solar United Neighbors co-op. That they were chosen by the local solar co-op is a good recommendation in itself. And my experience with iSolar was uniformly good — they were always friendly, responsive, and helpful when I had questions about their proposal and the installation. Unfortunately my solar project stalled out at the permitting stage because of difficulties with Xcel Energy’s system,, but I wouldn’t hesitate to use iSolar when I am eventually able to put up solar panels on my home.
We had the Ihles install our solar array in the fall of 2019. We are thoroughly pleased with the product and with their neat and professional job of installation. Over the past three years there have been no problems. It just runs and runs without needing any maintenance of any sort.
Our solar array consists of 48 365-watt Longi solar panels, mounted on Omco ground mount solar racking, and 2 SolarEdge SE7600H-US inverters. In the first year of operation, we generated 27,701 kWh.
To be even more carbon neutral, we also installed a Waterfurnace 5-ton, Series 7 geothermal heat pump. During the first heating season, the heat pump used 7,178 kWh x $0.10 /kWh = $718 to heat our 3,400 sq. ft. home.
Looking at our kWh production and consumption history, in that first year, we sold 20,612 kWh to the power coop, we purchased 10,541 kWh, for a net 10,071 kWh sold to the power coop. In the winter months when there are shorter daylight hours, we purchase more power than we sell. But starting about in February, we sell the Coop more than what we purchase. Since we installed the solar array, we haven’t had to pay any electric or heating bills, and as of the end of 2022, we have a credit of $756 on our electric bill. The solar array provides all our power, including what is needed to heat the house. Going solar is the best purchase we’ve ever made.

Since we installed the solar array, we haven’t had to pay any electric or heating bills, and as of the end of 2022, we have a credit of $756 on our electric bill. The solar array provides all our power, including what is needed to heat the house. Going solar is the best purchase we’ve ever made.
After spending a lot of time researching and getting quotes from several companies, we chose iSolar to install our solar panel array. Their customer service and willingness to educate and explain without being pushy and sales oriented was head and shoulders above any of the other companies with whom I spoke. They were always available to answer any questions I had and were pleasant and amazingly efficient during the installation. I highly recommend that you work with them if you are looking to get your own solar panels!

A well deserved review. I was very pleased working with Isolar. Other than signatures the Isoalr team took care of every step of the process from detailed design to permitting, to installation and connection. They were attentive to keeping me updated on every step of the process and educating me along the way. We did run into two issues the first was a major delay of processing on Excel energies side. Isolar worked with Excel on my behalf and kept me updated on the progress. The second was a city ordinance that came up regarding needing to notify neighboring properties and the Isolar team took care of that whole process as well. I was impressed with the professionalism of the installation and the attention to details. Thank you Isolar team.

Going solar was something I always wanted to do and iSolar made it a wonderful experience. I met with several solar providers but iSolar offered the best price. At no time in the process did I feel like I was pressured to purchase or locked into an agreement. That was very important to me. My sales rep., Justin, answered all my questions and concerns. He responded promptly to my emails, even at odd times of the day. I was kept informed of the process with Xcel Energy. Ryan explained the process clearly from application and to installations. He guided me through the software used to monitor my power generation. Once approved, the handover to the installers was smooth. They were on time and cleaned up once they were done. Excellent job!

iSolar installed an EV charger in our garage. The work required running a line through our finished basement across the full width of our house. They managed this while only cutting two small access holes in the drywall both of which were repaired. Everyone we worked with was great, especially Adam. I would use this company again.
I purchased the Mustang Mac- E in Nov 2024 after Trump was elected knowing that I would expect the Electric Vehicle incentives to go away. I took advantage of the free charger and included installation incentives that Ford offered. Isolar was awarded the bid to install the charger which included running the wire 50 ft from my circuit panel at the back of my house to the garage through a conduit outside of the back wall of the house, then through the basement joist space into the garage. I worked directly with Ryan and his uncle, John (the master electrician) regarding specifying locations to install and fishing the wire through the joist space in frigid 5deg F temperatures. We had to work 15 min outside then warm up our fingers inside for 15 min. I did not hear one complaint about having to work in such cold. I felt Ryan and John and Felipe, their 3rd technician, were very professional and friendly while responding to all my questions and requests. I have no reservations to recommend Isolar for any electrical work.

Like many, I had been looking at solar for a number of years, but didn't take the plunge until this year. I used online tools to get various quotes. Some were good others not so much. I was given iSolar's number from a neighbor who had had iSolar install their system and they had a great experience. Hence, I decided to go with iSolar and am very glad I did. The quote was competitive and the process was not only flawless but was very accelerated from original expectations (just over 2 months from first contact to installation to making money!). I am a Sr. Project Manager for Patriot Homes, LLC (a general contractor) The solar panels of a customer of mine needed to be removed and reinstalled to facilitate a roof replacement. The original installer had gone out of business, so I contacted Isolar for a bid that I was needing to submit for approval to their insurance carrier prior to our work being done. I also reached out to every single company locally for additional bids and soon found out that half are no longer in business and the other half do not have any one available to speak with when calling and/or don't respond to any attempted communications. Isolar quickly provided me with their estimate and scheduled the removal of the panels and, shortly after our install, they were back in to reattach the system. My homeowner did not have access to his monitoring system as it was never set up during the original install and Isolar was able to work around this even though it obviously made their job more difficult. There was a small issue located by the electric company with the system not producing and Isolar was out almost immediately diagnose the issue and even went so far as to calculate the potential loss to my homeowner ($55) for reimbursement. Without even being asked they are mailing him a check with an additional $20 for the very minor inconvenience caused to the homeowner. If google reviews allowed more stars they would get them from me. As a general contractor there are a lot of moving parts in any project and many subcontractors being coordinated. No one is perfect and work doesn't always go how you hope through all parts of a project, but Isolar is definitely at the top of my list of contractors I have worked with, and I was completely satisfied from start to finish. They are quick, efficient, responsive, punctual, and provided amazing customer service. I got about 4 bids on solar panels and ended up going with iSolar after contacting their provided references. The solar insure package that's included definitely sweetened the deal, but their presentation was much better than some of the other bigger guys in the area. They listened to me wanting to put panels on my outbuilding, and actually used their software to show me specific spots on my roof and how everything would shake out.
They also were the only ones that actually looked at my property and chose the panel location we ended up going with, and so far they're far out producing expectations. Very happy with the service I've gotten from them and would recommend them for sure.

I was considering putting up solar panels on our house. I called three companies in the Minneapolis/St. Paul metro area and asked them to come to our home to discuss the possibility of installing panels. Two of the three responded to my request. I was extremely impressed with iSolar’s presentation. They were concise, straight forward and eager to be of service. Comparing the two presentations, iSolar was head and shoulders above the other organization. They were clear about the timeline for installation, various products that were available and pricing. I needed our array repaired. The team at iSolar was helpful and kind on the phone. They showed up exactly when they said they would and repaired the array exactly how they said they would. They even followed up afterwards. This is how you run a business!
Could not be happier with this service. Phil spent the time trouble shooting our electrical problem. Instead of replacing the entire system, as was recommended by other companies, the repair ended up being 1/10 of the cost.

I participated in a Solar United Neighbors group that chose iSolar as their installer. Ryan from iSolar was great to work with. He answered all my questions thoroughly before and after installation. A few months after the papers were signed, the panels were installed and connected to the grid. The building inspector found one little thing to improve. But iSolar fixed that within a few days and the panels have performed great for 1.5 years now. I would recommend iSolar to anyone.

They won the bid for our solar coop participants. The detailed financial forecast model they ran for us gave us peace of mind about the investment. It showed that it wasn't their "first rodeo" and the install went pretty smooth. They were very responsive about questions and concerns I had and got the necessary permits all lined up. After some production and scheduling delays (which I understand), it appears our array actually overproduced this summer compared to predictions, which I'll take any day!

Our roof was severely damaged by the recent hailstorm and required replacement. The roofing company needed to have our solar system taken off and put back on so that they could complete the roofing process, but the company that installed our panels was months out in terms of lead time. iSolar to the rescue!

Dan and Ryan and have been very easy to work with. We were looking for a company to detach and reattach our panels during a roof replacement project. Other companies required that the panels be offline for up to a month, and would take weeks to get on their schedule. iSolar was very flexible and coordinated with the roofing contractor to have crews out so that downtime was less than a week. Would highly recommend them.

Isolar did a great job of figuring out how much solar panels we needed to get the right performance out of our panels and placement on the garage. Only issue was have to take out a $30,000 loan so you have to be in it for the long term to get any financial gain from it. Like to help get new energy source going away from coal and oil. Came out to $190 a month for loan which may be about what our bill would be per month for electric. Summer we get credit since solar produces enough sunlight and winter we pay a little since we don’t see as much sun then. We did receive a tax break of about $8000 the year after we installed. If gas prices keep rising we will definitely be glad we did it.
Update as of December 2023: I have received this year's final numbers and am happy to report that all of my electricity consumption has been covered by solar power. This includes the energy required to power my two Bolt EVs. I will also receive an $800 check for the surplus electricity generated by the iSolar panels. At this point, I am only five years away from ultimately paying off the cost of the solar panels and earning a profit from the electricity they produce. Furthermore, I have already covered the negative environmental impact of installing the panels. It may seem costly initially, but it's worth the investment if you can afford it. I received my federal rebate and got a substantial amount of money back with my 2022 tax return. Dakota Electric's off-peak EV charging is a crucial factor in saving money. It only costs me around $1.50 in electricity to travel 100 miles, and I always start my day with a full tank of electricity. It takes me just 5 seconds to plug in at night, and I don't have to stand outside in the cold. Summary: The cost for electricity in my house and 15,000 miles on the electric car was covered by the solar panels. Thanks to the EV storage rate, I am able to save tons of money each year. The cost of the solar panels will pay for itself in about 6 more years. Keep in mind the savings is a bonus. I wanted solar for the environmental benefits.

Justin was a great salesperson who answered all my calls immediately, unlike other companies that forced me to leave a message or make an appointment. They have a family feel to them as they work. They pull together when needed and make sure the customer is happy. Justin, the salesperson, was also one who helped with the installation. Your salesperson is also one of the installers. Yes, everyone in the company is hands-on and knows what they are doing. When there are structural needs, they call in Three Rivers Contracting to help. Larry, from Three Rivers, made sure everything looked fantastic. In fact, I will have my shed in my backyard reconstructed using Three Rivers next summer.

5 STARS!!!!! I didn’t buy my solar installation from iSolar, I called them for help with an inverter problem. I had contacted several other solar companies who took days to call me, iSolar called back within minutes. They were polite and prompt as we worked out a service time and date that worked for me. Their service person arrived ready to work and on time. They were fast, accurate, competent, polite, and thorough at getting my system up and running. If I ever add onto my system or if I need service they will be the first and only company I will consider.
I highly recommend doing your solar project with iSolar. We had a rather large project done on our house. The end result was fantastic. Our project took longer than expected but that was due to Excel Energy. I solar stayed on top of them to keep the project moving along. Once we finally got the approval from Excel Energy, the actual installation only took 2 days. I had a ton of questions along the way and Ryan, and the team from iSolar always took the time to answer them all. I was introduced to iSolar because they were the preferred provider of the local Solar United Neighbors co-op. That they were chosen by the local solar co-op is a good recommendation in itself. And my experience with iSolar was uniformly good — they were always friendly, responsive, and helpful when I had questions about their proposal and the installation. Unfortunately my solar project stalled out at the permitting stage because of difficulties with Xcel Energy’s system,, but I wouldn’t hesitate to use iSolar when I am eventually able to put up solar panels on my home.
We had the Ihles install our solar array in the fall of 2019. We are thoroughly pleased with the product and with their neat and professional job of installation. Over the past three years there have been no problems. It just runs and runs without needing any maintenance of any sort.
Our solar array consists of 48 365-watt Longi solar panels, mounted on Omco ground mount solar racking, and 2 SolarEdge SE7600H-US inverters. In the first year of operation, we generated 27,701 kWh.
To be even more carbon neutral, we also installed a Waterfurnace 5-ton, Series 7 geothermal heat pump. During the first heating season, the heat pump used 7,178 kWh x $0.10 /kWh = $718 to heat our 3,400 sq. ft. home.
Looking at our kWh production and consumption history, in that first year, we sold 20,612 kWh to the power coop, we purchased 10,541 kWh, for a net 10,071 kWh sold to the power coop. In the winter months when there are shorter daylight hours, we purchase more power than we sell. But starting about in February, we sell the Coop more than what we purchase. To be even more carbon neutral, we also installed a Waterfurnace 5-ton, Series 7 geothermal heat pump. During the first heating season, the heat pump used 7,178 kWh x $0.10 /kWh = $718 to heat our 3,400 sq. ft. home.
Looking at our kWh production and consumption history, in that first year, we sold 20,612 kWh to the power coop, we purchased 10,541 kWh, for a net 10,071 kWh sold to the power coop. In the winter months when there are shorter daylight hours, we purchase more power than we sell. But starting about in February, we sell the Coop more than what we purchase. Since we installed the solar array, we haven’t had to pay any electric or heating bills, and as of the end of 2022, we have a credit of $756 on our electric bill. The solar array provides all our power, including what is needed to heat the house. Going solar is the best purchase we’ve ever made.
After spending a lot of time researching and getting quotes from several companies, we chose iSolar to install our solar panel array. A well deserved review. I was very pleased working with Isolar. Other than signatures the Isoalr team took care of every step of the process from detailed design to permitting, to installation and connection. They were attentive to keeping me updated on every step of the process and educating me along the way. We did run into two issues the first was a major delay of processing on Excel energies side. Isolar worked with Excel on my behalf and kept me updated on the progress. The second was a city ordinance that came up regarding needing to notify neighboring properties and the Isolar team took care of that whole process as well. I was impressed with the professionalism of the installation and the attention to details. Thank you Isolar team.

Going solar was something I always wanted to do and iSolar made it a wonderful experience. I met with several solar providers but iSolar offered the best price. At no time in the process did I feel like I was pressured to purchase or locked into an agreement. That was very important to me. My sales rep., Justin, answered all my questions and concerns. He responded promptly to my emails, even at odd times of the day. I was kept informed of the process with Xcel Energy. Ryan explained the process clearly from application and to installations. He guided me through the software used to monitor my power generation. Once approved, the handover to the installers was smooth. They were on time and cleaned up once they were done. Excellent job!
