Where solar produces best in Edina
The postwar neighborhoods tend to produce best. The Country Club District is Edina’s heritage preservation district, so exterior changes visible from the street get reviewed by the city’s Heritage Preservation Commission. In practice that often means placing the array on rear- or side-facing roof planes and using all-black panels. Edina earned a SolSmart Gold designation partly for streamlining its solar permitting, so the city isn’t hostile to solar, it just wants the streetscape protected.
