The best producers in Savage tend to be the 1990s-2000s two-story neighborhoods, Dufferin Park and the streets around it, where boulevard trees are still shorter than the rooflines and you can often find a clean south- or west-facing plane big enough for the whole array. Big Sky Estates and the other new construction near Murphy-Hanrehan is even easier, young landscaping, modern trusses, no shade to speak of. Older ramblers in Glendale and Hamilton Hills can also do very well, their long simple gables hold a lot of panels, as long as the mature trees on the lot cooperate with the south exposure.

The harder lots, The Pointe’s wooded walkouts, lake lots on Hanrehan, older north-Savage yards with 50-year-old oaks, are where design matters. We run a shade analysis before quoting anything, and when partial shade is unavoidable we use microinverters or optimizers so one shaded panel doesn’t drag down the string. Complex 2000s rooflines get split across two or three planes. Savage doesn’t have much acreage left inside city limits, so ground mounts are rare here, but where a big open backyard exists we’ll price that option too.
