In December 2024, iSolar installed a rooftop solar array on a Chase Bank branch in Cottage Grove — a great example of how everyday commercial buildings (banks, clinics, offices, retail) are some of the best solar hosts in Minnesota: flat roofs, steady daytime load, and predictable hours that line up with peak production.
The business case: On-site solar offsets the branch’s daytime consumption and trims the demand charge — the costliest, least-controllable part of a commercial bill. With the 30% federal ITC plus accelerated depreciation (MACRS), the after-tax payback is faster than most owners expect. A December install also let the project land in the 2024 tax year.
