A roof under solar can absolutely be replaced — it just needs the right sequence. The panels come off (detach), the roof is redone, and the array goes back on and is recommissioned (reset). When the solar and roofing work are coordinated, the whole thing moves smoothly. Here's the step-by-step timeline so you know what to expect.

Step 1: Assessment and coordination

First we review your system size, roof and racking and coordinate with the roofer's schedule. Sequencing matters: the goal is to detach right before the roof work and reset right after, minimizing the time the array is down.

Step 2: Safe electrical disconnect

Step 3: Detach and store the array

Panels and racking are removed and stored safely on-site or off, labeled and handled to avoid damage. Doing this methodically protects both the components and your warranty.
