This Hastings family had the land for it, so iSolar pile-drove a 56-panel, 24 kW ground mount — a large home system that leaves the roof untouched.
A ground mount is ideal when you have the yard space: panels sit at the perfect angle for Minnesota, there’s no roof penetration, and service or future expansion is easy. We pile-drove the foundation below the frost line and oriented the array for strong year-round output.
The homeowner owns the system outright in Dakota Electric territory — keeping the energy value and net-metering benefit for the long haul.
Because the homeowner owns this system, they keep the energy savings, the net-metering value and the resale value — iSolar doesn’t do residential leases or PPAs in Minnesota. (The federal residential solar tax credit ended December 31, 2025; the value here is ownership and decades of net-metering credit.)
